NAIDOC Week involves both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people coming together to promote understanding and pride, educate young people, and celebrate the diversity of the Australian culture.
The 2019 theme of NAIDOC Week is 'Voice, Treaty Truth'.
These were identified as the three key elements to the reforms set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
National NAIDOC co-chair John Paul Janke said 2019 was a unique opportunity to hear the nation's indigenous voice given 2019 is being celebrated as the UN's International Year of Indigenous Languages.
"It's time for our knowledge to be heard through our voice - an Indigenous voice of this country that is over 65,000 years old," Mr Janke said.
