The Butcher Boys were thumped 61-0 by Western Suburbs at St John Oval on Sunday and will now miss prop Kurt Warden for the rest of the 2019 season.
Warden, who has previously played at Cessnock, Souths and Port Stephens, missed the game after tearing his pectoral muscle against Kurri Kurri the weekend before and Central coach Phil Williams doesn't expect the front-rower back any time soon.
The Butcher Boys have slipped to last on the competition ladder but Williams is hoping captain Ethan Cook (leg) returns from injury against the Goannas at Cessnock Sportsground on Sunday.
* MACQUARIE Scorpions centre Royce Geoffrey is free to play against Lakes at Lyall Peacock Field on Sunday after escaping suspension this week.
Geoffrey entered an early guilty plea to a dangerous contact charge from the 43rd minute of Saturday's 32-14 loss to the Goannas at Cessnock.
* LAKES lower grader Joshua Hayes was due to front the Newcastle Rugby League judiciary this week after being referred straight to hearing for a serious official abuse charge. Souths reserve grader Toby Whitehead was suspended for two weeks after entering an early guilty plea for striking.
* CRL Newcastle have named seven NRLW representatives for Saturday's NSW Women's Premiership semi-final against the North Sydney Bears at Campbelltown Stadium.
The Novocastrians, who haven't played since June 29, finished third on the ladder.
