Oxygen All Stars Legacy, made up of nine to 14-year-olds, received the highest score of any team in all divisions of the state competition, which involved almost 90 teams from the Hunter, Sydney, Dubbo and Port Macquarie.
As the grand champions, the team of 24 athletes has won fully-paid places in three future contests, including the Nfinity Champions League national competition to be held in Sydney in December 2020.
"Each athlete's entry fee can cost up to $100 in each contest," Oxygen All Stars owner and coach Courtney Turton said. "So those invitations are worth a lot of money."
Director of CheerCon Alex Jimanez described Legacy's routine as "just amazing".
"When you watch a routine you want to see uniformity, the execution done cleanly and difficulty for that level. They ticked all those boxes."
He said the annual meet in Newcastle always showcased a high level of sportsmanship.
"No matter who you are or where you are from, everyone claps for everybody. You don't get that kind of support at events in other states," he said.
