Logan is one of four whistleblowers appointed for the National Rugby Championships Division Two tournament in Adelaide from September 26-29.
The postponement of the NHRU grand final means it clashes with the representative series.
"I could have knocked back the trip to Adelaide but I'm 33 and my opportunities to control bigger games might be less than the younger guys," Logan said.
Logan will officiate three games in the four team tournament which features the NSW Country Cockatoos.
His absence opens the door for one of Newcastle's younger referees to control their maiden first grade grand final.
Entering the finals Lewis Nelson is ranked No.2, behind Logan, followed by Nick Gaal and Xavier Edwards.
* Hamilton have organised a controlled contact session with Central Coast minor premiers Terrigal on Saturday morning to make up for the lack of a game this weekend. The postponement of the NHRU finals had created a three-week gap between games for Hamilton. Coach Scott Coleman had asked University, Singleton, Nelson Bay, Southern Beaches and Sydney clubs Gordon and Easts before Terrigal came to the party.
Terrigal are in a similar predicament to the Hawks. They advanced straight to the grand final after their major semi-final was washed out last weekend.
* Hunter players Alex Vaughan, Brady Mather (University), Elias Pettigrew, Jack Johnson-Holmes, Will Archer (Wanderers), Zac Crowley, Jack Allen (Hamilton) and Beau Merrick (Singleton) have been selected in the NSW Country Colts side to take on Sydney at Daceyville on Sunday, September 15.
The rep game clashes with the NHRU major and minor semi-finals.
* NSW Super W championship-winning duo Katrina Barker and Maya Stewart are among seven Hunter players including Emma Bradford, Britney Duff, Lakesha Nathan, Nicole Nathan and Leilani Nathan selected in the NSW Country women's squad to contest the Chikarovski Cup in October.
