SWANSEA Bridge has reopened in both directions after an earlier mechanical fault shut the northbound bridge for more than four hours.

The northbound bridge was stuck in an open position, causing delays for northbound motorists.
The arm of the bridge, which raises for boats to pass through into Lake Macquarie, did not lower after raising at about 10am.
Earlier, Transport for NSW said alternative traffic arrangements had been implemented.
"The northbound Swansea Bridge is stuck in the open position due to a mechanical fault," Transport for NSW said in a statement.
"As a result, northbound and southbound motorists are both using the southbound Swansea Bridge under contra flow conditions.
"There is only one lane open in each direction on the southbound bridge."
Motorists were advised to allow extra travel time and drive with caution through the area.
A worker from Snorkel and Dive Safari Swansea, Ian, said traffic was backed up along the Pacific Highway shortly after the incident occurred.
"People are getting out of their cars and going for a coffee," he said.
