Kate Rundle, of Walkom Real Estate, marketed the three-bedroom, original double-brick home at 95 Henry Street with a guide of $825,000.
The property was on the market for the first time in 65 years. The home was set on an elevated block 549 square metres in size looking out over Throsby Creek and with city views.
It was the second-highest sale for Tighes Hill this year, according to Australian Property Monitors data. The highest, according to APM data, was $1.175 million for an original home on a double-sized block at 26 Hewison Street in February.

According to APM data, the median house sale price for Tighes Hill this year is $730,000 for 25 registered sales, up from $715,000 for 37 sales in 2018.
It was one of three properties Ms Rundle took to auction on Saturday, with all three selling. The other results were $1.975 million for a four-bedroom residence at 3 Barker Street on The Hill and in excess of $1 million for a Torrens Title townhouse with views across the city at 37 Florida Avenue in New Lambton.
George Rafty, of First National Newcastle City, also reported auction campaign success, saying five of six properties set to go under the hammer last weekend sold either prior or on the day. They included the $850,000 sale prior to auction for a waterfront home that had only been owned by one family at 17 Blackall Avenue in Blackalls Park. Mr Rafty observed "the market is very active".
In Charlestown, there were five bidders for a three-bedroom house at 17 Canberra Street that was marketed by Dalton Partners and sold under the hammer for $580,000.
