Entries for the 2020 Hunter Photography Prize have now closed, but not before the Hunter's amateur snappers took their chance to shine.
The judges selected 32 finalists from the many photos submitted.
From the creative and hilarious, to the emotional and stunning, the entries showcased life through the eyes of the Hunter's residents.

Winners receive camera prize packages from Domayne @ Harvey Norman Kotara.
The winner of Reader's Choice category will win a Nikon B500 Ultra Zoom Camera 16MP with 40x zoom ($398), plus 200 free prints.
First prize is a Fuji X-A3 Mirrorless camera with a 16-50mm lens (valued at $949), plus 500 prints.
The winner of the Highly Commended prize will receive a Nikon D3500 SLR with 18-55mm lens kit ($698), plus 300 prints.
The judges include Newcastle Herald senior photographer Simone De Peak, Newcastle Herald editor Heath Harrison, Newcastle Herald senior deputy editor Lisa Allan and Newcastle Herald digital journalist Simon McCarthy, as well as Hunter Communities editor Anna Wolf, Lower Hunter editor Rick Allen and Upper Hunter editor Rod Thompson.
The overall winner will collect the 2020 Hunter Photography Prize. Our judges will select the winner as well as a highly commended entrant. The judges' decisions are final.
