Last week, I was very lucky to join GWH Managing Director, Jonathan Craig, and Directors Grahame Chevalley and Hilton Grugeon on a tour to the top of the Highpoint Apartments in Charlestown.

The new development has reached its peak height, so it was a great time to take a look at the development. It is an incredible example of a high quality, mixed housing option for our City, perfectly located in the economic centre of Charlestown.
It has added diversity to our housing market, provided many jobs throughout construction and contributed to our local economy.
Museum of Art
I encourage everyone who hasn't had the chance to go and visit our newly refurbished Museum of Art and Culture (MAC).
Just recently, the museum has opened three new exhibitions that are worth a look. While you're enjoying the art, make sure you also take in the magnificent views across the lake and take a break at the cafe. One of the exhibitions is by Mervyn Bishop, who is arguably Aboriginal Australia's most prolific photographer.
His work is displayed through a digital slideshow and 24 framed images, including an iconic 1975 photograph of then-PM Gough Whitlam pouring a handful of earth back into the hand of Aboriginal elder Vincent Lingiari.
Community Survey
Every two years, council undertakes a community satisfaction survey to ask residents how satisfied they are with council's performance and services.
The 2020 version of this survey started this week and will include telephone surveys with residents up until the end of February. I encourage residents, if selected, to participate and provide honest feedback on how satisfied you are with the organisation's performance.
We want to continually improve the work we do at council, so hearing from our community is really important. The last time we carried out the survey in 2018, the result showed a 91 per cent satisfaction level with service delivery, while some areas of improvement included transport generating local employment opportunities and managing residential development.
The results of the survey will available in May and will help show how council is tracking.
