The defending Northern NSW NPL premiers are sixth with six points from their first five games under the guidance of the former English Premier League star, who has had to contend with the loss of several players from the 2020 success.
Striker Kristian Brymora, their top-scorer last year, is also yet to play in 2021 following groin surgery.
Bridges was unsure when Brymora and Jackson Pereira, who missed Saturday's win over Charlestown with a knee problem, would be back but he hoped to strengthen his squad in the May 4-6 window.
"Hopefully we'll have a couple of new signings in the window next week," Bridges said. "I kept some points up my sleeve for the first window so hopefully we'll have a couple more bodies on board for the senior squad."
Nick Curran made his top-grade starting debut in the absence of Pereira on the weekend and Bridges was full of praise for his work in midfield alongside Pat Wheeler.
** Weston already have one signing for the window, gaining former Jets Youth player Joey O'Connor.
O'Connor stepped up to help injury-hit Maitland make the grand final from fifth spot last season but he has featured only once this year as the Magpies have won four from five.
"It's good for us because he's a super young kid," Bears assistant Anthony Richards said of the signing.
Weston edged Maitland 1-0 on Saturday with a 69th-minute goal from former Magpie Tom Duggan.
