Jesse Wilton, of PRD Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, marketed the renovated four-bedroom, two-bathroom residence on a 634.61 square metre block at 24 Barton Street with a guide of $950,000.
It sold under the hammer for $1.53 million. According to Australian Property Monitors data, the sale is the highest for a non-development site in Mayfield and surpassed the $1.4 million exchange of 88 Crebert Street last September.
A three-bedroom weatherboard home at 3 Veda Street in Hamilton marketed by Street Property sold at auction last weekend for $1.2 million.
A four-bedroom home with a studio at 18 Stapleton Street, Wallsend marketed by Belle Property Lake Macquarie with a guide of $660,000 sold at auction last Saturday for $738,500.
Also at auction last weekend, First National Newcastle City sold a three-bedroom townhouse at 24/65 Downie Street, Maryville for $1.13 million, a three-bedroom home at 114 Victoria Street, Adamstown for $1.07 million and a four-bedroom house at 2 Macquarie Street, Merewether for $1.572 million.
On Saturday, Belle Property will take a two-storey residence with a pool and lake views at 2 Majella Close, Eleebana to auction at 1pm with a guide of $1.45 million.
