The heavyweight clubs moved four points clear of the pack with the dominant displays against Weston and Lake Macquarie respectively.
Broadmeadow came from a goal down to defeat the Roosters on Sunday at Magic Park and rise to 23 points, still one behind Jaffas.
Jackson Burston put Lakes up in the 43rd minute, chesting down a cross and putting the volley away.
Magic levelled in the 59th minute with Matt Hoole's strike after a clever backheel from Jayden Stewardson.
Substitute James Virgili fired a penalty into the roof of the net for 2-1 in the 71st minute after Michael Bru fouled Mitch Rooke.
Ryan Ensor finished at the back post off a Virgili cross in the 75th and Stewardson struck in injury time.
It was a similar story at Edden Oval on Saturday as Jaffas heaped more misery on Weston, who they thumped 7-1 to open the season.
Tom Waller put Jaffas up in the sixth minute when his ball across bobbled in off the far post. Weston levelled through Mitch Dobson's strike at a post-corner scramble in the 26th minute.
Scott Pettit buried a penalty in the 35th minute after Kale Bradbery was fouled and Ben Hay struck a powerful low shot to make it 3-1 in the 46th. Will McFarlane scored from a goalmouth scramble in the 56th minute for 4-1.
Weston finished with 10 men after keeper Scott Carter copped two yellow cards in injury time. Carter got his first for a sliding challenge on Luke Remington near the corner of the penalty area before he and Nathan Verity were given one each for a brief confrontation.
Second-last Adamstown produced the upset of the season when they beat Newcastle Olympic 2-0 on Saturday. Rosebud went ahead in the ninth minute at Adamstown Oval when Torren Blanch put James Lowe away on goal and he finished one-on-one.
Olympic's Jared Muller missed a chance to equalise on 53 minutes when he sprayed his penalty over the bar following a handball.
Kyle Munns put the hosts in control with a thumping header off a corner kick from Kaleb Cox in the 64th minute.
It was a breakthrough result and first clean sheet for Rosebud, whose other win this season came against last-placed Valentine.
Adamstown coach Dave Rosewarne was full of praise for his entire squad but said Kyle Munns and Charlie Naylor were standouts.
"For two young guys, the way they competed and their energy levels were off the charts," Rosewarne said.
The victory moved Rosebud to six points and helped drop Olympic to fifth on 16.
Edgeworth leapfrogged them into fourth, on 18 points, with a comeback 4-2 victory over Maitland (19) inspired by a Josh Rose hat-trick on Saturday at Cooks Square Park.
The Eagles were down 2-0 inside 19 minutes after Sean Pratt scored from the spot following a foul on him.
Edgeworth keeper Josh Low then hit his rushed clearance off a back-pass into a charging Mat Swan and into the back of the net.
Rose struck in first-half injury time, pouncing on a rebound from a Jakob Cresnar shot.
Rose levelled with a header off a Tyson Jackson cross in the 49th minute. Jeremy Brockie scored with a follow-up effort after a Rose shot in the 64th. Brockie then found Rose for a header in the 84th.
Charlestown downed Valentine 3-0 on Sunday at CB Complex to join Weston and Lakes on 11 points.
Harry Frendo scored in the eighth minute then set up Scott Smith for 2-0 in the 28th. Smith got a second from the spot in first-half injury time after he was fouled.
