The game at Magic Park was stopped after Plant was injured in a clash with Broadmeadow's Damon Green as the keeper tried to smother a cross in the 46th minute.
The Englishman lost feeling and movement in his limbs and was later taken to John Hunter Hospital by ambulance. The game was abandoned during the wait for paramedics, about 25 minutes after the collision, with Broadmeadow up 1-0.
Plant posted photos on Twitter on Sunday and wrote that he had "been cleared of any major damage however there is a long way to go to get back to full fitness. Definitely counting my blessings. One very lucky boy".
Plant has regained feeling in his limbs and has walked with assistance. Bears assistant coach Anthony Richards said Plant had swelling in his spine and was struggling to move his legs without pain in his back, but he had regained more movement in his arms on Sunday.
He was set to stay under observation in John Hunter Hospital.
The round eight Magic v Weston match will be replayed at a date to be determined.
