A true story, Calendar Girls tells of the efforts by a local women's institute in a Yorkshire village to raise money for leukaemia research after the death of the husband of one of their members.
They decide to produce a "nude but tasteful", calendar for sale locally.
But the project "blossoms" beyond all expectations, and a legend is born.
Wyong Drama Group director Howard Oxley said the very amusing script was "warm, loving and honest, but with occasional tissue moments".
Audiences are invited to take an emotional journey with the women, as they overcome their insecurities and misgivings to give the audience two hours of heart-warming and enjoyable entertainment.
There will be a special gala performance on Saturday, August 10, beginning at 7pm, which includes cocktails and a performance by Central Coast Brass Band.
The cast has even produced its own "nude but tasteful" calendar that is on sale throughout the season, with proceeds going to The Leukaemia Foundation.
Tickets cost $20 for the matinee performances, $25 for evening shows, and $35 for the gala night.
Visit wyongdramagroup.com.au for performance dates and times, or phone 1300 665600 to book.
■ Calendar Girls will be performed at Wyong Performing Arts Centre (Wyong Memorial Hall) from August 8 to 17.
