Four years ago, Clare's aunt, Sue-Ellen Wyld, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
She underwent chemotherapy, and was then diagnosed with leukaemia.
This Friday, Clare will shave her hair for the World's Greatest Shave, an annual cancer research fund-raising campaign by the Leukaemia Foundation.
The day will mark two years since Clare's mother, Katrina, donated bone marrow to her sister, Sue-Ellen, which contributed to her eventual recovery.
Clare said she was excited to show support for her aunt.
The year 6 student was the only one from Pelican Flat Public School to volunteer to participate in the World's Greatest Shave. However, Clare is not without her 47 fellow students' support.
The school will hold a funky hair day, where students will be encouraged to sport out-of-this-world hairdos.
The cost is a gold-coin donation, which will go towards Clare's fund-raising tally.
Clare hopes to raise $300 to donate to the Leukaemia Foundation.
