The two-time most valuable player for the North Stars started playing inline hockey when he was eight.
He made the switch to ice two years later, qualifying for Newcastle's under-13s state representative team.
Lindsay continued to play at state level and attended an international ice hockey camp in Finland when he was 15.
In 2008 he made the Australian representative side and joined the North Stars men's team the following year, aged 19.
Lindsay, now 24, is in his sixth season competing in the Australian Ice Hockey League.
The Kotara sportsman said he was proud the North Stars had made the finals every year since he joined, but disappointed they had been searching for a season win since 2008.
When asked about the direction of the team's 2014 campaign, Lindsay shrugged off their sluggish start, six games in to the 2014 season.
"We've lost a few times and that's hanging over our heads, but we really just have to beat that mental challenge and play our best game," Lindsay said.
"It's been a bit of a slower start to the season this year, but it'll pick up.
"We're always a strong organisation."
And there is no shortage of determination from the young ice hockey player who struck 100 games in the second match against the Sydney Bears.
Lindsay trains with the North Stars twice a week on the ice and alone three times a week in the gym.
