Last week a volunteer application portal was launched and a partnership with the Hunter Volunteer Centre was announced.
Lake Macquarie International Children's Games event director Jodi Tweed said it was the valuable contribution of the Games' volunteers that would help deliver a successful event.
"The Games provides a unique opportunity for our community to show their passion and pride for Lake Macquarie City and to be part of a once-in-a-lifetime experience."
Ms Tweed said the partnership with the Hunter Volunteer Centre would provide valuable support to the many community volunteers who would contribute.
The Games will also be part of NSW Education and Communities Timebanking initiative. This allows members to earn time credits when volunteering their time to provide a service and then spend those time credits when receiving a service from another volunteer.
