LAKE Macquarie City FC has been eliminated from the NEW-FM First Division soccer finals after losing 1-nil to Wallsend at Macquarie Field on Sunday.

In the first leg of their grand-final qualifier on August 14, Lake Macquarie and Wallsend drew 1-all in the match at The Gardens.
In the second leg, played at Speers Point, Wallsend got the verdict when David Hodgson scored the only goal of the match in the 48th minute.
The loss means the competition’s minor premiers will take no part in the grand-final this Sunday.
Instead, Wallsend will take on Belmont Swansea United at Jack McLaughlan Oval, Edgeworth, at 3pm.
The Roosters will, however, by vying for grand final wins in two grades on Sunday.
In the under 23s decider, Lake Macquarie will meet South Cardiff at 1pm.
In the 19s, Belmont Swansea United will play West Wallsend at 11am. And in the 17s, Lake Macquarie and West Wallsend will kick off at 9am.
Lake Macquarie were minor premiers in all four grades this season.
