Super maxi Perpetual Loyal was spotted in Newcastle harbour on Wednesday evening less than two weeks after the Anthony Bell-owned yacht sliced from NSW to Tasmania in an official (and record) time of one day, 13 hours, 31 minutes and 20 seconds.
Bell has made headlines for less celebratory reasons in 2017 after police sought an interim apprehended violence order against him to protect his TV presenter wife Kelly Landry.
The record-setting race late last year followed Perpetual Loyal bowing out early in two preceding Sydney to Hobarts.
Rudder damage ruled it out in 2015, a year after it was forced to withdraw after striking an unidentified object.
