Ford, an Englishman who starred on the field for Singleton in the second-tier last season, has taken on the under-20s team at the Bears. Piggott had been coaching the top two grades at Weston as well as interdistrict side Maryland-Fletcher.
Ford is only 23 but already has an AFC coaching A-licence and is helping Piggott carry the load.
However, Henderson said Ford had plenty to offer on the pitch in two games in under 20s in his return from injury and he loomed as a valuable addition to first grade.
