Under the Local Government Act the council’s governing body must appoint a person to be general manager.
The extraordinary meeting will be held at the Wyong chambers of Central Coast Council starting at 6.30pm. The meeting will be open to the public and live streamed.
A further meeting will be held to appoint an agency to undertake recruitment for a permanent general manager. This process is expected to take at least three months.
Mr Bell, the former Lake Macquarie City Council general manager, was appointed acting chief executive officer of Central Coast Council last September.
Mr Bell replaced the Central Coast Council’s CEO, Rob Noble.
