Natasha Scott arrived on the Gold Coast without a Commonwealth Games medal and will return home to Raymond Terrace next week with two gold.
The 27-year-old has made it a week to remember and capped off an undefeated tournament with victory in the women’s triples final at Broadbeach Bowls Club on Thursday night.
Scott, lead Carla Krizanic and skip Rebecca van Asch combined forces to comfortably account for Scotland trio Kay Moran, Stacey McDougall and Caroline Brown 21-12 in the title decider.
The hosts shot out to a 9-1 advantage after five of 17 ends and, despite the margin being reduced to four shortly after, were never headed.
Scott, at her third Games, also skipped the successful Australian women’s fours campaign earlier at the same competition.
Meanwhile, former Ettalong bowler Aron Sherriff will roll for gold in the men’s fours on Friday (12:30pm) with Australia meeting Scotland in the final.
Sherriff, who clinched silver in the men’s triples on Sunday, and the Jackaroos qualified after beating Wales 15-5 in Thursday night’s semi.
