Police are appealing for public assistance after the Pirate Point Pizza shop was robbed at Stockton.
About 5pm on Thursday two men entered the restaurant on Mitchell Street and threatened a female employee.
The men stole cash and the woman’s phone before fleeing the store and entering a vehicle parked outside.
No one was physically injured.
The pizza shop has since released a statement on its Facebook page, saying the employee is ‘okay’ after the terrifying experience.
“We have been closed the past 2hrs [sic] as we were robbed. Thanks so much to the community who came to help her.”
Officers from Newcastle City Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
Police wish to speak with two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
One man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-20s, 178cm tall, with a large build, and was last seen wearing a white hooded jumper and black sunglasses.
A second man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s, 185cm tall, with a thin build, and was last seen wearing a blue hooded jumper.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
