Weather and sea conditions have hindered the search for missing containers, as the clean-up of cargo ship debris along the coast continues.
Two of the 83 containers which fell overboard from the YM Efficiency on June 1 have been recovered.
Roads and Maritime executive director maritime Angus Mitchell said the salvage effort was continuing between Coffs Harbour and North Stockton, with a shoreline response and divers removing debris from the water.

“Weather and sea conditions continue to not be entirely on our side,” he said.
“However, the beaches and bays are mostly clear of debris. The difficult part now is to retrieve debris from rocky outcrops and shoreline which is only accessible by boat.
“We are engaging with other stakeholders and local councils regarding the de-escalation and possible re-escalation protocols in place in the event more debris washes up and its potential salvage.”
Community members are invited to attend public information sessions at Nelson Bay and Tea Gardens, to engage with representatives from key agencies involved in the clean up.

Salvage crews spent Tuesday north of Red Rocks, north of Seal Rocks, south of Seal Rocks, south of Port Stephens and inside Port Stephens. The Environmental Services vessel also continued work within the Port.
Bulker bags of debris collected over the long weekend were removed by helicopter.
