Adam Cullen and his girlfriend Tylee Robinson were the only team from the Southern Hemisphere.
The competition involves heats where men carry women through an obstacle course. If couples fall and hit the ground, they receive a 10-second penalty.
The fastest couple to complete the course wins.
The event was won by Lithuanian couple Vytautas Kirkliauskas and Neringa Kirkliauskiene, in a time of 1 minute 5.1 seconds.
Cullen and Robinson - who qualified by winning the Morisset and Australian titles last year - stopped the clock at 1 minute 30.48 seconds.
