Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a prisoner who escaped from a minimum-security correctional facility in Muswellbrook.
About 6am Wednesday officers from Hunter Valley Police District were informed that Robert Grover, 41, had escaped from the facility on St Heliers Road.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170 centimetres tall, with a medium build and brown hair.
It is believed he may be heading to Gunnedah.
Police are warning members of the public not to approach the man, but instead call triple-0 immediately.
