Snow chasers enjoyed the powder in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The Bureau of Meteorology had forecast snow for both Tuesday and Wednesday, as a cold front moves through the region.
Justin Lawrence from the Upper Hunter headed up to the Tops overnight and was met with a snow shower. According to information released by Destination Barrington Coast 2-3 centimetres of snow fell, with a good dusting around Polblue campground.
Road conditions are slightly wet according to National Parks and Wildlife, but the road is still open to 2WD with appropriate care.
"Visitors to Barrington Tops should be prepared for rapidly changing extreme weather including rain, wind and sub-zero temperatures," a statement from Destination Barrington Coast said.
"If you get stuck or are involved in an accident, help may be several hours away. Always pack additional warm clothing and extra food and water and always tell someone where you are going and when you'll be back."

Around the Hunter Region residents have woken to a frosty morning.
The mercury dropped below ten degrees across the board overnight. The Bureau recorded a chilly low of 4 degrees Celsius in Singleton, 5.9 in Cessnock and 7.3 in Newcastle.
A severe weather warning remains in place for coastal areas of the Hunter.
An intense Tasman low and associated cold front is forecast to produce strong and gusty winds on Tuesday. These winds will whip up heavy surf conditions, making coastal activities dangerous, and bringing the potential for coastal erosion.
