Onshore for today with a freshening south change working it's way up the coast early morning. Choppy small conditions with slight increase through out the afternoon. Swell starting off from the East before swinging back to the South at 1m. Wind S/W to South. Tides running out for the early and try along the beach at Nobbys, Newcastle Beach and South Bar. Merewether sanded up. Dudley, Moonie and Catho to the south. One Mile and Fingal up at Port Stephens. Shorebreaks are sanding up with guttter forming and sweeps running south. Nobbys, Bar Beach and Merewether patrolled. Water temp 16C. - Dave Anderson

HUNTER BOATING
Winds Southwesterly 15 to 25 knots, reaching up to 30 knots offshore south of Port Stephens in the evening. Seas Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres south of Port Stephens by early evening. 1st Swell Southerly around 1 metre, to 1 to 1.5 metres later in the evening. 2nd Swell Northeasterly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre by early evening.
