The Blues (6.6-42) were minus AFLW representative Sarah Halvorsen but stepped up to beat the Bombers (3.7-25) in a tough encounter.
On a handful of occasions City produced desperate smothers during the last quarter to prevent any type of comeback from the minor premiers.
The Blues were down by three points after the first term (10-7) but rallied to lead at both the main break (21-11) and three-quarter time (35-11).
Early in the fourth the visitors established a 30-point advantage before conceding the last two goals and two behinds.
Brooklyn Perry kicked back-to-back majors for the Blues in the second quarter. Caitlin Holcombe also nabbed a double. Molly Simpson and Simone Wood were the others to make the score sheet.
The competition's leading goal kicker Angela Jones opened the scoring for Killarney Vale in the first. Brooke Hulley-Peachey landed twice for the Bombers later in the season-ending fixture.
City's captain Taylor Joyce was named best on ground for the 2020 decider.
