WESTON dealt a huge blow to Broadmeadow's premiership hopes and revived their own finals chances with a 4-3 win at home on Wednesday night in their Northern NSW NPL catch-up game.

The result at Weston Park left third-placed Broadmeadow on 31 points, four behind leaders Lambton, who they play on Sunday, with three rounds remaining. The Bears rose to 18 points, one behind fifth-placed Newcastle Olympic.
Connor Heydon put the hosts up inside the first minute but Magic hit back to lead 2-1 through Jayden Stewardson and Jake Harris.
Weston equalised in first-half injury time through a strike from Aaron Niyonkuru.
The Bears were ahead less than two minutes into the second half when Tom Duggan sliced through and scored. They went 4-2 up in the 67th minute when Cooper Buswell scored with a glancing header off a Nathan Morris free kick. James Virgili gave Magic hope with a goal in the 89th minute.
Also on the night, Valentine improved their chances of avoiding the wooden spoon with a 1-0 win over Adamstown at Cahill Oval. A penalty in the 26th minute gave Phoenix a first win of the year. It lifted them to seven points, two behind Adamstown.
In the later game, Edgeworth downed Lake Macquarie 4-0 at Jack McLaughlan Oval to join Broadmeadow on 31 points.
Jeremy Brockie scored twice, after goals from Jakob Cresnar and Jake McGuinness put them in control. Magic remain ahead of the Eagles on the ladder by a goal.
