Tickets for the event will go on sale initially to Newcastle United Jets club members and be rolled out to the general public in early November.
NSW Premier Kristina Keneally announced the fixture during a press conference this morning at the Jets' University of Newcastle training base.

The conference was also attended by head of the A-League, Lyall Gorman, and Newcastle Jets executive chairman Ken Edwards.
Newcastle is the only city in the country that will host the megastar and his troupe.
LA Galaxy players will arrive in Newcastle on Thursday, November 25, and spend four days in the region. They are expected to visit the vineyards and Port Stephens during their stay.
Jets executive chairman Ken Edwards thanked the NSW Government and NSW Minister for the Hunter Jodi McKay for their part in securing the fixture.
The Jets versus Mariners game set down for November 27 is expected to take place on the Wednesday prior.
