DOMA Group have received the green light for plans to build a 140-room hotel on Honeysuckle Drive.
Hunter Development Corporation chief operating officer Valentina Misevska said the development application’s approval for 42 Honeysuckle Drive, the site between Hunter Water’s offices and Cottage Creek, was welcome news.
“Newcastle needs more hotel rooms and if HDC can create these development opportunities then we are helping the city attract more visitors, more business travel and ultimately, that also means more jobs,” Ms Misevska said. “When completed the $41 million Little National Hotel will create around 60 ongoing jobs, with more expected during the construction period.”
The hotel will be NSW’s first under the Doma Group’s Little National hotel brand. Another is proposed above Sydney’s Wynyard station.
The Honeysuckle hotel, which will include 250 parking spaces, is slated for completion by late next year. Doma Group’s proposal for the site was chosen last April.
