RAY Peachman, really well said (Short Takes, 12/7). I wouldn't trust a priest with my dog, let alone my kids.

SIX years in detention you and your government have blood on your hands, Scott Morrison.

WE have figured it out. The education system is the problem. With 10 minutes to the final whistle NSW were leading by 12 points. Right in front of the sticks NSW had the opportunity to finalise the game, kick a field goal. One can only assume the current NSW State of Origin players cannot count?

WHY are people rushing off to climb Uluru right now? It is not like we have a shortage of hills and mountains to climb. I am glad at long last the climb will be banned. Humans have a habit of tainting what we touch. Look what we have done to our planet. Pauline Hanson needs to think before commenting.

FANTASTIC to see so many Mark Hughes Foundation Beanies adorning the heads of Swansea residents. What a wonderful way to raise awareness and much-needed funds for brain cancer research. Having lost two dear friends, Polly and Fiona, to this insidious form of cancer - how heart warming it is to see so many folks supporting this worthy cause. Beanies for guys and gals can be purchased at our local pharmacy for just $25. I love mine.

IN your paper of July 11 you incorrectly reported that Serena Williams was on her way to her 24th grand slam. May I point out that Serena has never won or completed a grand slam? In fact no one in the modern era being tennis or golf has managed to win a grand slam. Your article should read "On her way to her 24th major".

LLOYD Davies (Short Takes, 15/7), along with all the Labor party punters, you would lose your money. The man-made climate change odds would be thousands to one. Enough to encourage the do-gooders hypocritical greens and the imbeciles into having a punt. Like they say, a fool and his money are easily departed.
