The Newcastle Rugby League match review committee will decide this week whether or not to charge Kurri bench player Young, who was given his marching orders after kicking Butcher Boys utility Dom Murphy.
The last-round incident, which occurred with nine seconds remaining on the clock and the Bulldogs 13-12 down needing a result to make the semi-finals, sparked a melee.
Murphy was on the ground and in possession of the ball following a tackle when defender Young, standing on his feet at marker, made contact with the Central player's torso using his boot.
A group of players, up to 20, from both sides then converged around 20 metres out in front of the Butcher Boys' uprights and were involved in push-and-shove altercations for almost 40 seconds before being separated by the match officials.
On three occasions during that time, Young lashed out at different Central players with his hand or arm.
Young, the brother of Canberra NRL player Hudson, was eventually sent off. Butcher Boys second-rower Matt Koellner was then given 10 minutes in the sin bin.
Central kicked the ensuing penalty dead, signalling full-time. It was the Butcher Boys' fifth straight win and saw them stay in third on the competition ladder. Kurri slipped outside the top five to sixth.
A draw would have seen both teams progress to the play-offs, in front of Cessnock, but Central skipper Ethan Cook split the deadlock with a field goal in the dying minutes.
Young has already been suspended this year, missing two matches for striking in reserve grade in round five.
Bulldogs pair Reid Alchin, who was banned for three games in June after a shoulder charge, and Tyme Dow-Nikau were also put on report during Sunday's first half. Kurri teammate Jarred Anderson still has three fixtures to serve for a second dangerous throw in 2019.
Souths, Cessnock and Wests each had a player put on report during the weekend.
Lions centre Harry Van Dartel, Goannas back-rower Paul Carter and Rosellas playmaker Ryan Walsh will wait to see if they have cases to answer.
FINALS WEEK 1: Maitland (4) v Cessnock (5) at Maitland Sportsground on Saturday; Souths (2) v Central (3) at Townson Oval on Sunday.
