Ash Brodigan is set to return to the elite level after being signed by the Newcastle Jets for their A-League Women's campaign.

The versatile attacking player was just 16 when she debuted with the Jets in 2015-16. She made 16 appearances in three seasons and returns to the club after having last played in 2018.
Now 22, the Central Coast product had been trialling with the Jets during pre-season after a strong Newcastle Herald Women's Premier League season with premiers Broadmeadow.
Brodigan scored 18 goals in 16 appearances and was key to Magic's success in the COVID-shortened season. Only Jets teammate Jemma House scored more with 20 goals for Newcastle Olympic.

She represented Australia at under-17 and under-20 level and has shown enough in pre-season for Jets coach Ash Wilson to offer her a contract.
"What has impressed me is the determination and mentality she has shown," Wilson said.
''To have gone away from the top level, set new goals, and come back in as a more mature and motivated player - it is a credit to her.
"Ash brings versatility and creativity to our attack and physically offers us key characteristics that will help us execute our brand of football."
Brodigan can play midfield as well as up front. Her signing takes the Jets squad to 17 players. Wilson is expected to complete her 18-player squad with the inclusion of a second international player.
The Jets have already brought in exciting Norwegian attacker Marie Markussen.
